Inland Surf Invitational
It all starts - literally and figuratively - with the river that runs through Downtown. The first scheduled event of this year's Roots Fest takes advantage of one of Missoula's newest Downtown amenities: Brennan's Wave, the whitewater park located just off Caras Park. Beginning at 8 am Saturday, some of the finest wave-riders in Missoula and the region will compete in the Inland Surf Invitational, a spirited whitewater event. For those people interested in just learning the basics of kayaking, information and resources on how to get started in this sport will be available. The Inland Surf Invitational is open to kayaks, canoes, surfers and riverboarders.
